Incentives are intended to support projects that are energy efficient designs or installing new premium efficiency, high performance equipment or, measures previously considered under the Standard Incentive Program. Please note that equipment eligibility criteria still apply. Measures that are considered "standard practice" in the Ameren Illinois Utilities territory are not eligible for funding. Call the Act On EnergyTM Business Program if you have any questions. Any electric-efficiency project that meets the Custom Incentive criteria will qualify.
Following are the simple criteria that can help you determine if your project may qualify:
- The annual energy savings, both before and after the incentive, must show a payback between 1.5 and 7 years.
- Custom Incentives are capped at no more than 50 percent and no less than 10% of the incremental project cost.
- Calculations and documentation are required for the estimate of the energy saved for a custom-project incentive.
- Custom Incentives are based on $0.05/kWh times the annual kWh savings estimated for a project. Pre-approval before purchasing equipment is required.
- The maximum incentive that will be awarded a company facility by May 31st, 2009, is $100,000 total from both the Standard and Custom incentives.
Following are the steps required to receive your Custom Incentive:
- Download and complete the Custom Incentive form (see below).
- Submit project application for pre-approval BEFORE purchasing equipment, including all energy-savings calculations and documentation.
- Receive pre-approval from program for incentive.
- After pre-approval is received, purchase and install equipment for energy-efficiency project.
- Submit the required completion documentation.
- Receive your check!
